Renowned British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby created TIBBO for an era in which indoor and outdoor living spaces are merging. DEDON’s first collection in teak, TIBBO combines meticulous craftsmanship, superior comfort and remarkable lightness in a design that is distinctive, elegant and pure. Comprising both dining and lounge elements in a mix of teak and woven fiber, TIBBO conveys an exceptionally rich and luxurious look and feel.
TIBBO is defined by a certain architectural rigor in both its construction and its proportions. But the rationality of the design is balanced by the warmth of the wood, the comfort of the cushions, the natural look of the specially developed fiber, and the sail-like three-dimensional curve of the formed seat backs.
Since founding their London studio in 1996, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have produced a diverse body of work that spans industrial design, furniture and lightning, as well as site-specific installations and public commissions, including the London 2012 Olympic Torch and furniture for the Portsmouth Cathedral. TIBBO is their debut project for DEDON.
Teak is one of the world’s most valuable timber resources. Furniture made from beautiful premium teak, sourced from sustainable plantations, is rich in natural tannins and is able to withstand even e×treme weather conditions over an e×ceptionally long lifetime. The wood is resistant to rain, strong sunlight, freezing conditions, and fluctuating temperatures. These qualities make it particularly well-suited to long- term outdoor use.
DEDON teak furniture does not require any special maintenance apart from periodic cleaning. When e×posed to natural weather conditions, teak's golden color changes to a soft silver-gray. As this is a natural process, the silver-gray color may appear irregularly, especially at first.
To retain the wood’s original, golden hue, clean it, using the DEDON maintenance products once or twice a year and apply DEDON Teak Color Protector at least twice a year. To remove any rough grain and restore the wood to its smooth finish, lightly sand the surface from time to time.
To avoid scratches and water stains on surfaces we recommend the use of coasters. Surface contact with any acidic substances should be avoided, e.g. wine, citrus juices, sodas, etc. Any impurities that may nevertheless occur, must be removed immediately.
DEDON warrants to the original purchaser that our product is free from defective materials and workmanship under its intended reasonable use. The warranty period begins with the sale of product to the end customer. The warranty is non-transferrable, and is applicable to the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase will be required.
